Tyson

Senior Occupational Therapist

Hello! I'm Tyson, your dedicated Independent Occupational Therapist on the Gold Coast. With a robust background in aged care and community paediatric and adult NDIS services, my expertise lies in crafting personalized intervention plans for children, emphasizing developmental milestones, sensory integration, and family-centred care, with a special focus on play-based therapy. In my current role as a Community Paediatric Occupational Therapist, I collaborate closely with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to tailor individualized intervention plans for children, ensuring their well-being in our community. The incorporation of play-based therapy adds an engaging and effective dimension to my interventions. Previously, as a Community NDIS Occupational Therapist, I produced high-quality documents for the NDIS, and coordinated with support teams for successful intervention plans. I have Bachelors of Health Science and a Master's in Occupational Therapy from La Trobe University and am currently completing an Masters of Business Administration at Griffith University. I also have certifications including a Working With Children's Check, CPR and first aid. I provide a safe and supportive environment for paediatric clients. Join our journey for unparalleled paediatric occupational therapy services, integrating play-based therapy, and focusing on developmental milestones, sensory integration, and family-centred care.

Professional Information

Hi! I’m Abbey, an independent Physiotherapist servicing the Gold Coast and Northern NSW regions. I completed my Bachelor of Physiotherapy from University of South Australia in 2019 and had the opportunity to work in one of the top rehabilitation hospitals in the state. This enabled me to gain extensive experience in neurological populations, musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions, aged care and amputees, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. It also assisted me in developing advanced skills in manual handling, assistive technology and management of complex cases.

I made the move to the sunny state almost 3 years ago and have since worked in the community setting, particularly with NDIS, DVA and aged care, and paediatrics. This has built on my passion for developing strong rapport with clients and their families, as well as collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care to achieve clients’ goals. Whether it is exercise therapy to improve one’s functional capacity, manual therapy to relieve pain and injury or report writing to advocate for one’s needs, I strongly believe in making it fun, individualised and meaningful to help maintain independence and improve wellbeing.
